About the JCDecaux Group

The JCDecaux Company was founded by Jean-Claude Decaux in 1964. The first items of modern street furniture were born of his idea to combine public service facilities and advertisements. Since then, continuous further development and numerous innovations have driven the company's activities ever forwards. Today, the company is managed by sons Jean-Francois Decaux and Jean-Charles Decaux. Jean-Claude Decaux is chairman of the supervisory board. Gewista is integrated in the JCDecaux Group at an international level. The French outdoor advertising company holds a majority share in Gewista of 67 per cent through JCDecaux Holding.

JCDecaux has 428,000 advertising panels and is number 1 worldwide in the street furniture segment. The company also counts among the world's leaders in the field of transport and traffic advertising. JCDecaux is present in over 300 transport networks with more than 380,200 advertising panels in metros, buses and tram systems, as well as in 163 airports; it reaches a total of 2.4 million passengers every day.

JCDecaux is Europe's market leader in the classic billboard sector (large surface billboards) and has high-quality locations in around 3,000 towns and cities in 30 countries. As the majority shareholder of Gewista, JCDecaux is also the uncontested Number 1 in Austria. All activities in Eastern and Central Europe are directed from Vienna –Director General KR Karl Javurek is managing director of JCDecaux Central Eastern Europe Holding GesmbH and chairman of the supervisory board for the company's subsidiaries in Central Eastern Europe.
